Birmingham City Schools Open House
Birmingham City Schools is having an open house on Wednesday, Nov. 17 from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. The theme for this event is “Great Public Schools: A Basic Right and Our Responsibility.” All schools in the district will participate in observance of American Education Week.
The Birmingham City Schools included the following details about the open house in a recent email newsletter:
“The open house is not just for parents, although parents are invited to come,” said Superintendent Craig Witherspoon. “This is an opportunity for all stakeholders to visit local schools and see what is really happening inside.” Witherspoon hopes business leaders, community residents, potential participants in the Partners in Education program and others who are interested in the school system will take advantage of the open house. “We want to give stakeholders a chance to go into our schools and see what actually is occurring in the classrooms. We want them to see the quality teaching and learning that happens on a daily basis,” he said.
